10
steps to easy cellar management.
|
- You start by entering wine into your database by scanning the bottle's
(EAN or UPC) barcode with your bar code reader or typing in the bottle's
bar code
number.
- Your data entry is fast because:-
* if this is a repeat of a wine already
entered - your entry of the bottle's barcode number and vintage is sufficient
for the program to automatically
complete all other fields.
*
if this is the first occasion you have entered
this wine - you use the pull down menus to quickly enter wine details.
- You click OK and apply the next Vinote tag to the bottle.
- You enter multiple bottles by continuing to click OK and repeating the
application of tags.
- You place the tagged bottles in your cellar, filling any available spaces.
- You can, at your leisure:-
- print a cellar-list from your database (in particular use the query function
to create a list of wines suitable for 'drinking now').
- produce the standard Valuation Report and store this away.
- add winemakers tasting notes and pictures of the labels, taken from winery
web sites.
- When you wish to select a wine for opening:-
- you consult your cellar-list or database program,
- you make your wine selection and note the last three digits of the tag,
- you find the numbered tag (locating a single number amongst 100 bottles
takes less than 20 seconds).
- While opening the bottle, you hang the tag in a secure place.
- Enjoy the wine and discard the empty bottle.
- At a suitable (sober) time you gather your used tags and accurately remove
the uncorked wines from your database by scanning Vinoté tag barcodes
or keying in the tag numbers.
- Extended details on how to perform the 10 steps, using Vinoté+Plus
can be found in the tutorial at Vinoté+Plus
Tutorial.
- A barcode reader is not essential, but those who use one swear by its value.
Available at Barcode Scanner.
- The V+ Data Entry Form is designed for tagging bottles in-situ and transferring
the wine information from your existing cellar to your wine software. Available
at V+ Data entry Form.
- Programs compatible with Vinoté tags include Vinoté+Plus,
The Uncorked Cellar and Wine Cellar II
